and keep it affordable! ( you might not even spend more than 30 bucks! you could most likely do it for free)
If your getting bored the way your room looks, or its been the same for the last many years, then why not change it up?
Moving furniture: You don’t have to buy new furniture at all, you can just rearrange where your furniture goes! switch some things, try out new stuff, try drawing a little lay out of how your room is layed out now, then a new one with diff possibilities where your furniture can go, and see what you like best! (free)
Clean: Make sure your room is clean and not cluttered! clutter can can make your room seem less spacier than it really is, and a neat and organized room is always refreshing. (free)
Lights: This one is a little more specific, and has been popular lately, probably because of holiday season. Decorate a book shelf or the rim of your bed with white christmas lights! it gives a homy and cozy feeling, and is very pretty. (can get for under ten bucks!)
This pic is a great example of how lights can bring something pretty and alive to your room! Also see some nice pattern coordination in the wall paper and the pillows <3
Stick to the neutrals: It’s your bedroom, bright reds, oranges, and yellows aren’t going to help you go to sleep. toned down blues, purples, and earthly colors give off a relaxing feeling, and tend to go very well together.Though reds and yellows are acceptable when they are more autumnesque. some examples:
Coordination: To keep up the feng shui, keep up the coordination of the room. You don’t want your room to look like something was all jumbled together! I feel a good way to do this is to take a nice fabric (like a calico print) with a pattern you like, and incorporate this into your room! Also keep the color scheme even throughout the room.
Make pillows, conforters, curtains, decora, etc. out of it, giving your room a unified feel.
This living room is a nice example, see how everything ties in together?
Balance: If you have all of your furniture or stuff shoved to one corner or side of the room, the space where little is occupied will feel empty. Try spacing out stuff, put a picute here, a decoration there, have an even amount/ sizing of furniture in each area of the room.
Decoration: Get crafty! you don’t need expensive high end stuff to decorate your room. you can get flower pots from craft stores, and decorate them with paint, and add a nice glaze finish over it for cheap!
Make your own art, go to second hand store where I’m sure they have tons of picture frames, classic and vintage, waiting to be used.
Flowers are the gods of decorations. Get some nice, sweet fake ones at your craft store (this is where the coupons come in handy), and use your vases and crafty pots to hold em!
A stragetically placed bouquet or flower can really bring life to the room. also don’t just stick with one flower (unless it goes with the room), mix and match some!
Also, take some rules of fashion in consideration: Patterns and patterns= no, Solids and pattern=yes, solids and solids= alright. Pick out one specific pattern you like (floral, shapes, etc.) and keep it to that same exact pattern.
Don’t think that polka dots and stripes go, or two different floral patterns. You don’t want to over do it, so pick that pattern, and then choose a solid color in the palette of colors that is in that pattern, and use it as a base color.
That base color and pattern is great for distributing around the room.
Paint: This can be a little more expensive, but is a defenite aspect that you should be willing to invest in. When it comes to painting your walls, choose a lighter color that will go with your room’s color scheme.
Something dark or concentrated can make your room seem much smaller, and will clash easily with other things. Remember to prime first if your walls aren’t already white!
If you don’t want to paint your whole walls, you can be crafty, and just paint a solid stripe around the perimeter of your room, or make cute designs, (that are evenly distributed and go with the rest of your room of course).
So there are some tips to room decorating! hope that could help! Written by me.

I do get some questions when i start talking about sparring. “sparring? you mean, like fighting?”
well yes, sparring is in fact fighting. will refresh your minds that i do tae kwon do, and at my dojang we teach both the traditional and sport side of tae kwon do. I’m currently training to go for my 3rd degree, and so i already know kumgang, so right know i’m just polishing it (kumkang is the second degree bb form), and so for the past few years i’ve been training more on the sparring (sport side ) of tkd.
Some people ask, ‘does it hurt?’. well yeah xD. For me, not really anymore, pain is bearable and im used to get bruises through it, so it’s not that bad. Once you train a lot in it, you no longer focus on the pain, but rather the strategy that comes with sparring. Plus ive been kicked in the head so many times i can smile, intimidates my opponents wonderfully :D
There are so many combinations you can do, countering, attacking, different steps and kicks, and all in all, it’s like a really fast paced chess game!
Of course we wear gear : head gear, hogu (chest protector), arm guards, shin guards, mouth piece, for guys cup, and the high majority wear instep guards (the top of your foot), but i don’t (and most black belts), because they’re annoying >.>.
Pro sparring you don’t wear gear, and im not sure if its correct but i think that’s reserved for 3rd degrees and up, but olympic sparring requires the basic gear.
for those wondering, there are rules to sparring (changes for certain age groups) :
points: by hitting the hogu hard and clear enough in designated areas is a point, for 18 and up color belts and 14 and up black belts, 2 points for head shot, 13 and under no head shots (for some tournaments it’s diff.)
winning points: there is 7 point gap and 12 point ceiling. First to hit 12 points automatically wins, even if there is still time left in the match, if there’s a score of 7-0, 8-1, 9-2, 10-3 11-4 (7 point gaps), automatic win, or the one with the most points at the end of the time wins. If there is a tie when the time ends, you go into sudden death, which is a quick match where the one who scores the first point wins.
time: (some might be wrong. been a while since i sparred as a color belt)
color belts: two 1 minute rounds with 30 second break between.
black belts: two 1:30 rounds with 30 second break
can vary for black belts to 2 minute rounds, and more than 2 rounds.
there are in fact penalties, half point off (kyong go) or full point off (gam jeom).
both are relatively rare, but they do happen. usually warnings are given before either deductions, but intentional hitting to the head (with your fist), intent to hurt can be a gam jeom right away or disqualification ( also disqualified if blood is drawn).
~kids 13 and under can be given a gam jeom or even disqualification if intentionally hitting to the head, if unintentional, usually a warning.
kyong gos: tripping. grabbing, pushing, accidental hitting the face, continously kicking at the legs or too low after warning, avoiding the match after warning, taunting. (and more)
gam jeom: really anything with full intent to hurt, or continuously doing something after warnings and kyong gos have been given. I think after 7 (? probably incorrect), kyong gos, you are disqualified. Also gam jeoms or kyong gos can be given if coaches (each fighter generally has a coach on the side who coaches them at break) start fighting.
Also for adult black belts, knock outs are allowed.
Was at a tournament not too long ago where the coaches were yealling at eacho ther and at the ref and the ref gave both sides gam jeoms.
well yes, that was kind of long, helped to refresh my mind, toodles
is freaking addicting. My ds game brain age 2 has a whole sudoku section with over 100 games of sudoku, so fun, almost half way done :D
I’m taking winter break to really clean out my room, and make it look decent! (im a little bit of a pack rat) I have random stuff in there, like an old mini rocking chair (getting rid of) a rolled up carpet in the corner (getting rid of) a medium sized old tv on its stand (ugly, not hooked up, and getting rid of). oi ill have so much more room! I also want to brighten up my room somehow. ( if you guys have any ideas, please! share!)
My furniture (book case, desk, bed, dresser, and bed table) are much darker tones (makes everything look smaller, dont have money to get new, plus its perfectly awesome furniture, why put it to waste!), plus i have high ceilings which would be a pain to paint or add wall paper to. (instead of painting my walls, I paint a foot wide stripe around the perimeter of my room, was red, now is blue.)
also throw away (or give away) stuff ill never really use again, everything has a proper place, but i just prefer not to put them there :)
kind of tempted to steal my bros room, he has his own place, and goes to college, plus his room gets more sunlight, has a shorter ceiling than mine (more painting opportunities) and hard wood floors (mine has carpet), but he probably won’t let me x)
are good for many things, like picking stuff up, and shoving peanuts up your friends’ noses :D
You ever think about how weird human beings are in general? think about it, we have littles sticks of flesh protruding out of our arms. And butts, we have butts. whats the point of a butt? to make yourself comfy, at least we have that much :)
Oh holiday season, how i love you so, the only thing about holiday season that kind of gets me is the gift giving. I was never really good at it, but this year i really want to get my buds something nice :) now i just got to figure out what >.> that’s always the hard part!
but yeah, my hair is getting longer :3 happy about that, once it hits a bit below the shoulder ima go ahead and dye it. (dark red ftw!)
Also a good thing to know is what colors go with you, like personally i find cooler colors, like soft blues, and purples look nicer on me, what about you? don’t know? well go figure it out!
fact of the day: milk is stored in bags in canada.
and i case you were wondering, this post was bs-ed <3
Everybody has someone who are just absolutely close to them, not the type of friends who change, but who will stay wit ya foever.
Mine? without a doubt my cousin gaby, (though sash, sar, alexa, i love you guys amazingly too! angie and viv also <3) but gaby ive known since practically birth. She’s my cousin, and truthfully, we hated each other when we were younger xD we were totally abusive to each other (in a kind of halarious way), but as we grew and got more mature, we really became like sisters!
I love seeing her, and i always have a good time with her, sure, we’ve gone throught some rough patches, and some personal ones ourselves, but always come back, she’s my supportive baby that i adooore <3
You know who your true friends when your 70 and out for lunch, because those are the ones that stay with you for life, and i know i can name a few who will be joining me for some clam chowder in 55 years ;)
is a virtues, which explains why i haven’t posted a substantial post in a hwile, because im lazy :) taught the little dragons class today at tkd (4, 5 year olds), there were only two of them, but i don’t think i did that good, just so tiiired.
Last night was my court’s (you know, like a street) holiday party, it was otns of fun! i grew up with these people, and its cool cause there are 3 others in my court around my age; ones 13, one 14, and one 15, (im the oldest), and theyre like siblings to me. (there’s like 7 houses on my court)
and im so effing happy! my bro bought himself a new car, so he gave me his old truck! woot, now i just need to wait till april so i can go for my permit :D
oh, and socks and cheese, ily, im wearing ‘em right now!
" no more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone"
"No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden"
"when busy streets a mess with people would stop to hold their heads heavy”
"When I got fight in these roses I still can’t be scared I got stones in my pockets I still can be shared”
"Little bird, little bird, little bird What do you see? A picture perfect scene Two toned lawns are manicured The garden’s wearing a haute couture
It’s hiding something It’s trying too hard Hiding something It’s trying too hard “
just jotting down possible quaotes to go with my tattoo, Im opting towards the little bird one (though not that whole part xD) its starting to shape! (i scratched the last idea for somehting more original)
Onto the day now. Today was the last day I had to page for the seniors for their mock congress. Some of them are nice, and some of them are not so nice >.<
It really wasn’t all that bad, but it was really warm in the room cause of all the people in there.
Sketched up even more ideas (fashion designs), another one i really like :) I won’t post sketches, only final products.
And it’s raining! it’s so niiiice, beautiful gray skies.
Anyways the real point of this post is to talk about tattoos! The second I turn 18 I’m off to the parlor and getting myself one :) I already have the basic design sketched out, and now I’m looking to commision someone to neaten it up and make it prettier :)
And also, Don’t get a tattoo just to get one, or because you think it’s cool, get one that really means something to you and is symbolic.
There are lots of people out there who get one with no meaning behind it and they regret it later in life :( Mine has a lot incorporated into it, I’ll scan the design eventually.
Ima get one right on my side where the ribs are, and its gonna be like 6 or so inches long, about medium sized.
tips: Don’t get a tattoo that’s easily viewable (face, hands, etc) especially if you have a job that will judge.
~Don’t tattoo somebody’s name on you. just don’t, you might not have an amazing relationship with them in the future.
~Go somewhere reliable. Disease can spread through used needles, so go somewhere where they are regulation and use new ones each time, (also make sure they have a liscence).
~Don’t get a tattoo that you thought up of only a week before, think about it for a month or 2, to make sure that’s what you really want, you’ll probably end up revising it several times.
What about the UK? my choices have been between NYC and UK, and lately I’ve kind of been leaning towards the UK, the London Uni of the Arts is there, and the University contains the college of fasion, now just gotta figure out if i could afford it (psh yeah right)
hurts really bad right now D: slept on it wrong, woops.
I was walking down memory lane, or should i say street.
The good ‘ol days where my stupid moments were contributed to the fact that i was younger, now they’re contributed to the fact that i have really stupid moments xD.
Like when i was a kid I’d say ‘mazagine’ instead of ‘magazine’, or ‘liebarry’ instead of library. Wednesday would be spelled wendsday, and supercalifragilisticexpialadocious was not yet in my vocab. (and yeah, i can spell that out loud, dare me sometime). Oh and I could still fit in the dryeing machine. (been a while, should try again)
Nowadays instead of stupid vocab mistakes, i partake in hurting myself (on accident each time). Like as cherrypaha would now, everytime in french class, I would unintentionally hit some part of my body onto the surroundings because i get a little over excited:
1) Our seats were moved next to each other, results in me opening my arms wide for a hug. injury:right arm bangs against wall (really hard) (our seats are up against the wall)
2) Cherrypaha comes in to poke me, I try to parry the poke. injury: right arm banged up against that little barrier between me and freedom.
3) Laughing causes pain. injury: head bangs against the wall
4) Trying to tell cherry paha during a partner excersize what i did over my break, ‘En mon vacation, J’ai aide mon TKD ecole et Je kicked petits enfants. She didn’t understand, so I made the motion of kicking a kid. injury: kicks leg against metal bar.
Okay this next one i didn’t get injured but it was funny:
5) Didn’t know what txt book page we were on, attempts to poke cherrypahah multiple times to ask but she doesn’t respond until: she lifts her hand to stop my pencil that was poking her, pencil flys into air, hits kid in front of us, the teach gets angry, we laugh uncontrollably. lawl
And also there was the incident where, you see, Me and cherrypaha share a locker, and we both have french, and so we have the same workbooks. Well one day in class I was thumbing through my work book (we sat across the room from eachother at the time).
And as I looked through it, used to seeing my messy handwriting, i find like 3 different pages where it’s Cherrypaha’s handwriting. I was like “lolwut?”
So i started motioning to Cherrypaha to look through hers, and she did, moment of suprise. There was my handwriting in hers too. Apparently several times we accidently took eachother’s workbooks, changing them eachtime and never realizing it. End up going across the room to hug and laugh, teacher called it ‘a moment’
Im feeling better thanks you!! :) I still cant eat though....I dont really have an appetite soo I kinda just drink Gatorade haha but its all good!! I think staying in my house a lot these past days have made me gone a little crazy...but crazy people are like cool so its all goodd!! haha ok I think Im guna go now...hehe <3 ya!
..You compare synthecizing genomes to makin me some hot coco. yes, this conversation really did go on, with lots of hitting, arguing, and spitting in hair (not really, that’s just gross).
See, Me and my good bud socksandcheese decided that if you take smaller genomes and piece ‘em together and surgically place them in a bacteria cell, IT DON”T MEAN YOU MADE LIFE FOO, you altered it, derp.
It’s just like (and here’s where the coco comes in) when you take the manufacturer of some awesome hot coco (nestle(c)) who makes the fantastic hot coco powder of yumminess, then going on a talk show with their hot cocoa, pouring it in some hot water, and gloat: I MADE HOT COCOA!
NO you dip, you didn’t MAKE hot coco, you took something someone else made and added hot water. that’s the USA for you,
We also agreed that mirror games, japanese snacks, and starbursts can make you the slightest bit hyper, ah-men little lady.
OMG I FORGOT TO TELL YOU!!! TODAY I WORE MY ROBOT UNDERWEAR JUST FOR YOU BUT I FOGOT TO SHOW YOU! I WASHED IT LAST NIGHT AND EVERYTHING. ALL. FOR. YOU.
you better feel special.
you still didn't get to see it. :(
auuuugaeruhaeruh nooo i wanted to see iiit D: wear it on monday!
stop, drop, and roll (or break dance, your pick). the two things up top are two of the main reasons i adore winter and cold weather in general
I mean really, just think about it! It’s cold and chilly out, you bundle up in your nice and warm coats, the cold air feels nice on your hair, you don’t get sweaty like you do in the hot weather of the summer, and once you come back home, you cuddle up to the fire place with a hot steaming cup o’ hot coco.
that’s the liiiiiiiiife.
Plus, It’s holiday season! sure, I don’t celebrate christmas (hanukah woot), but doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy all the pretty decorations, and the festive mood. It just makes me happy, plain and simple as that.
That’s probably one of the biggest things i look foward to when I head over to New York. The holidays, NYC is very festive, and it snows!!!!! definite plus!
The whole holiday thing reminds me of a movie… ‘The Holiday’
Sweet movie, I enjoyed it a lot, whenever it’s on tv, i have the tendency to stop and watch ;)
So yeah, loving the winter, and I spazz out every morning when I see the frost on the lawns and roofs, with fog just sitting around, It’s like a little california winter wonderland, cause where i live, frost IS the snow, we’re not getting anymore then that.
